Yes! It really is snowing today! It came down really hard this morning while at school. Yes, I ran out through it and then came back in. It didn't stick this morning, and now the snow is back, yet again. As the afternoon turnes into evening, we are to have more and more snow. Tim told me earlier that it's suppose to get down to 12 degrees tonight, which is unheard of in South Texas. I'm just glad that tomorrow is Saturday and we can stay in. Although, my mom and I are looking forward to going birthday shopping tomorrow.
I'll post pics later, as soon as I can get home and get my camera.

It's a girl!
Here are our ultrasound pictures from October. I know...I'm just getting around to posting them. The bottom pic is the first one they took. She (yes, it's a girl!) jumped up, waved, and then sat back down. I have had one other ultrasound done since these were taken, but haven't had a minute to scan them. I will soon, but these are way better than the two others I have at home on the fridge.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, anybody?
Have you seen the new Harry Potter yet? OMG....it's AWESOME!!! Although, I have to say, it makes me want to see the final movie now! If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for? And those of you that don't know, there are three more movies coming out soon that are based on children's books.
Today was a busy day. Our school office staff returned to work today. As usual, I took them breakfast. I do this about once a month during the school year to show my love, support, and gratitude to/for them. They love it! Anyway... I moseyed my way up their this morning about 9:00. I should know better by now (afterall, this is my 4th summer to return as a librarian) that the library would be an absolute PIGSTY! Of course it was. I didn't leave it that way, but that's the way it gets after the cleaning crew deep cleans it over the summer. I only got about 1/8 of the things put back in place. I would have stayed longer but the heat got to me. Yes, the a/c in the library is broken, once again. ARGGGG!!!! I think this happens consistently after the a/c being off all summer long. I had our head custodian call it in, but by 2:45, they weren't out there to fix it and I just left. After all, I think it was about 80 degrees in the library, and about 95 degrees outside. There's so much more work to do still. It will all get done in time.
Anyway....
I finished reading another book today. I've read more books these past 6 days then I have all summer. You are probably wondering what it is. It's called Alvin Ho: Allergic to Camping, Hiking, and Other Natural Disasters. If you haven't read it, you should. You'll be laughing out loud. I know...it's a children's book, but you should know me by now. That's all I ever read. After all, it's my job to keep up with what my students are reading. I have posted on my Shelfari list to the right the other latest books I've read. Let me know if you (or your children!) have read any and what you/they think. And if they need a suggestion, look and see what I've read.
Off to start my next book... Punished!
Have a great week.
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
- Where the Wild Things Are
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians--Lightning Thief (book one of a series of five)

Ode to Paint and How We Hate Thee!
Okay, okay.... So it's been forever since I last posted. Things here have absolutely been NUTS!!! Where to begin, and no, I don't want to write a novel tonight!
Let's see....
Since March, Tim and I have been mostly working around the house doing little odds and ends. Last week his best man from our wedding, Juan, came up for a few days to help us paint. Yes, paint. It's not that the color was bad (in fact, I really liked the color!), and painting definitely wasn't in our plans, but it just had to happen. You see, the week before I had gone around the house spackling the nail holes, all in tent to later get the can of paint out of the garage that was labeled and slap some paint over the spackle. Easy right? Better think again. You see, after Tim attempted to slap on that paint, we had, well, as he called it, a dalmatian house! We quickly figured out what the previous owners had done. You see, the walls were originally a chocolate brown color. When they went to put this house on the market, they just painted right over that color--one coat, no primer. So, needless to say, the chocolate color bled threw. When Tim went to put paint over the hole, the true color came out. It didn't look pretty, and after all, we were throwing our House Warming Party the next weekend and it had to look good. So we ended up painting the dining and living room, along with one hallway in about three days. We finished just in time for our party.
Ok, so other than painting and doing odds and ends around the house this summer, I have busily been creating new cards. It's hard to create anything, yet alone mass produce things during the school year! Believe it or not people are constantly asking me what's new, and what do I have ready to sell. One must be prepared!
I've also been to a few workshops for school. I had one today all about the latest and greatest in tween books. Yes, books for tweens--children age 10-14, if you don't know. And on that note....
You can't doubt that I've been busily reading children's books, too. Afterall, I do have to keep up with the latest and greatest! It's my job. Check out my shelves on Shelfari. It will tell you what I've read, and what I am currently reading. You can also check out my Wiki I'm writing for school. http://www.whitcombreads.pbworks.com
I'm off to bed. Tomorrow morning I am meeting a girlfriend of mine and her two daughters to see the latest Harry Potter movie. Can't wait.
I'll try and do better with my postings.

We're moved in!
Hi all!
I know, I know... it's been almost two weeks since I last posted. Life has been extremely busy and I haven't had one minute to slow down to smell the coffee!!!
Last week was spring break. Tim and I have moved almost everything into the house. (Only the grill remains at the apt.) The movers came last Tuesday. So, I guess one could say we've been living in the house for a little more than a week now. We absolutely love it, but there are still boxes around to unpack and some pics to hang. I know what my weekend entails!
Tim went back to work this week in San Antonio. It's been a little quiet around this place this week. I'm more than ready to have him home for a few days.
There are ten weeks left until school is out for the summer. My this school year has flown by! Summer vacation will soon be here, and yet, there is so much to do still this year!
Off to unpack more boxes and decide where to hang some pics.
Have a great weekend, y'all!

A Picture
A High Speed Whirwind!
Hi all!
I know it's been awhile since I last posted. Things here have been moving at high speed!
Tim and I closed on our house Monday this week. It's a chore to get everything over to the house. I took Monday afternoon and Tuesday off this week. Mom came over to help me unpack and put away the kitchen items Tuesday. We literatly worked all day in the kitchen getting it done. It's the only room in the house that has things in it right now! Well, okay, the kitchen table is there, and so is one TV, VCR/DVD player. Last night the cable guy came and connected the DVR. Tonight the refriderator got delivered. I'm glad that this next week is spring break. I'm ever so ready for it. It's been a long haul since Christmas break. This next week will be a whirlwind, too, I'm sure, trying to get the rest of the house moved and unpacked.
Tim met our new neighbor yesterday. He's a League City policeman, about our age. It's good to know there's one right next door. Not that we are living in a high crime area at all, but just the fact that there's a cop car in the driveway next door gives some extra sense of comfort.
I'll try and do a little better at posting more often. It's just a busy time right now in the Cole household. One of these days soon I'll remember to take my camera over there so I can post a pic of the house.
Have a good one!
Till next time....
Adios.

A New House?
I know it's been a while since I last posted something. This last month and a half have been absolutely crazy!
Clear Creek ISD is opening up two new elementary schools this coming fall, and I interviewed for one of them. I was quite hopefull one of them would become mine, but found out yesterday they gave the positions to somebody else. Oh well. That's how the cookie crumbles. Yes, I was a little dissappointed yesterday to say the least.
Tim and I have been looking at houses since Christmas. We finally have a contract on a house in the South Shore Harbor subdivision. Tomorrow we are having the inspection done. We'll see how it goes. It was built in 2003, so I am hopefull that all will go well. Tim's a little leary about having the inspection done tomorrow since it will be Friday the 13th. If all goes well and everything stays on schedule we should be moving into our new abode spring break week. If anybody is in town and wants to help us move, give us a hollar! (Hint, hint!!)
Back to tending to the cookies in the oven for school tomorrow and to the card making orders.
Have a great Valentine's Day!

A Busy Holiday Season
Happy New Year!
These last two weeks of "Winter Holidays" as the school district calls it have been very busy for Tim and I. We spent Christmas day at both parents' abode. Inbetween visiting parents, we went to the movies, and needless to say, we weren't the only ones. We went and saw "Marley and Me". It was really good. The ending was sad. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest a box of kleenex for the end. Ok, maybe just one or two tissues, but be sure to have them. Tim says he wished he could have come up with the story, though, since almost everything Marley did Cody (his dog) has done at some point in time!
Tim and I left New Year's Eve to go to my parent's lake house for a mini-vacation. He and my dad went fishing for two days, while my mom and I made a trip into the Woodlands for some New Year's Day shopping. We came home this afternoon, and Monday it's back to the grindstone. This spring semester will be a long haul since the only other break is spring break. We had other days worked into the calendar, but the district took them away because of Hurricane Ike, and the district just had to make days up. (Even though the state officials waived our days, and no other district in this area is making them up!)
For those of you who have yet to see wedding pics, they are coming, I promise. You can view them online from my photographer's website.

The video from the wedding itself will be posted here, as soon as I get it in my hot little hands!
Hope this new year treats everybody well!
